My current works focus on the effects of environmental stress on Black people and the means by which we seek restoration and peace. Restoration and resilience are both necessary for the mental, social, emotional, spiritual and physical survival of our people.

The resilience of people of African descent predates time and is a guardian to the future. This calabash functions as a tool that receives prayers and reveals the paths to resilience within oneself. Resilience feels, looks, smells, tastes, and sounds different for every individual. It is also non-existent to some; for they were not taught to create space for resilience. The calabash is collaged with images of varying paths to resilience which include African spirituality, family, community, ancestral reverence, meditation, knowledge of our history, and many more.
