Examining the internal through the external, I created a material object that amplifies the energy of the heart; a tool for opening the heart, magnification, giving and receiving love energy. Tapping into the power of adorning the body, I fused new and discarded materials (natural and man-made), creating the skin of an outer shield; to be worn over the heart. 

This body armor, infused with power through creation and the physical merging of all of the materials’ histories, provides protection physically and emotionally, opening the hearts of the wearer and anyone who encounters it, to greater love. 

This is a tool for healing, the personal and the societal. This project is not about shielding the heart from hurt, this project is about opening up the heart to greater love so that the heart can be healed, so that the people interacting with this shield can find common ground.
